Loose Wire

I have a Yanmar 3GM30 and I recently discovered a loose wire located on the harness behind the alternator and oil filter. I used a mirror to try to locate where this wire would connect but could not find an empty connection. I have attached pictures of the wire in question and appreciate any assistance.

No worries - check your Yanmar manual for the diagram. Yanmar manuals designate the connector as "spare. " In fact the connector is available for the Yanmar seadrive. The wire colors (should be) black and white.

exactly.. goes to the sensor in the space between the diaphragms on the saildrive .. turns on that lamp in the panel to tell saildrive people that it is past time to take the boat out of the water.. and put a new rubber boot in.

Appreciate having friends like you helping me out.
exactly.. goes to the sensor in the space between the diaphragms on the saildrive .. turns on that lamp in the panel to tell saildrive people that it is past time to take the boat out of the water.. and put a new rubber boot in.
