I am looking to replace four of my 1989 Vision 32s stantions. I have already been to the guru and know that they are no longer made nor can they be made because of the vendor that provided the tops. Maybe someone out there has switched theirs out or has a few to sell by pure coincidance. Please respond to this post if you do.

We had a reckless boater destroy one of our stanchions on our HV'36. I sent another one (opposite side) to Garhauer and they custom drilled new ones for us. The one that we replaced was at the boarding position on the starboard side. They could easily build new ones for you boat.

Thanks for the info...the ones I have were custom made for Hunter that year. The vendor they used had the black plastic tips supplied by another vendor who no longer will supply them. I checked with the custom shops to get this information and notably Whitewater who was a major supplier for Hunter at the time. Funny how such a simple item can be so exclusive..oh well...after all it's for a sailboat !

One of the advantages of the Garhauer Marine stanchions is that you can remove the stanchion tube from the base (you need to order seperate bases and tubes). This is a good option for the folks that need to tarp their vessel in the winter.

They may not be able solve the problem with those mid 80's stanchion bases but it looks like SBO store should be able satisfy this in the not too distant future.
