Hey Just finished Breaking Sea's it was amazing...Anyone else have any good sailing books to recommend.

I just finished Blown Away. Enjoyable read. Really though, how they made a Pacific crossing in a boat that was falling apart is amazing. All those "Proper Blue Water Yacht" folks out there should avert their eyes!

Just finished "A sail of 2 idiots" by a woman (can`t recall her name).She and her husband as rookies sold everything to move aboard a Cat and headed south. Very enjoyable. Local library had to go Waaay outside the tradtional library lending systems to find it. I think it came from a small college library in Florida.

About half way through pretty good read. I'm reading this after Breaking Seas and both of the authors have much in common in their personal lives. You begin to think maybe all sailors are a bit abnormal. Everyone except me of course.
I just read that, too. Fun read. Really made me want to jump into the boat and sail to the Caribbean. ;-)
Of the VERY few fictional pieces I've read, The Shipkiller was a good read.

I just read all of Bernard Moitessier works. I can recommend the Long Way which details his nonstop circumnavigation plus another half lap in 1968 - 1969. Moitessier is probably one of the most accomplished singlehanded sailors that has ever lived. Another great book is "A Voyage for Madmen" which chronicles the 1968 Golden Globe singlehanded race nonstop around the world. I would suggest reading A Voyage for Madmen first. Enjoy.
..."Breaking Seas"...didn't do it for me. Although pretty well written, too much emphasis on everyone's physical appearance.
These have been mentioned before, but I really enjoyed 'My Old Man and the Sea' by David Hays. Another one I liked was 'Maiden Voyage' by Tanya Aebi. Enjoy!
