Getting ready to work on my 88 40. Have to upgrade the 15 gal holding tank to at least a 25 gal. Has anyone done this and if so can they share the model and make and location of the vendor to purchase. Saves me time measuring the hold below the vee berth. Some of the tank spec are not too spec. on measuremnts for the odd shaped tanks. Fifteen gal. is not enough for me for Great lakes touring with a larger crew.

Ronco Plastics makes many tanks. They may have one for you. Why not call and ask?

If it was my boat, I'd measure it myself anyway. To avoid the "measure twice cut once" syndrome.

Here's what one of our skippers had to do: http://c34.org/bbs/index.php/topic,6593.0.html

Just an example of some good ingenuity. Lots of pictures as you go through the multi-page thread.

I read the headline to say ..Lager holding tank... Come to think of it, 25 gallons sounds just about right!

You might try Ocean Link in Portsmouth, RI. They've ben around for quite awhile. They've been in the water and waste water business for some time and have an excellent reputation among the boat builders and yards in New England and the Northeast.

They custom build (rotomold) head and water tanks in Portsmouth. I'd give them a call, They're great people and if they can't help you directly they'll steer you in the right direction. Ask for Terri or Kevin.

Their website is www.oceanlinkinc.com.

I installed two new tanks in my 39. A fellow 39 oday owner used the same tanks. We both came to the conclusion that they are the largest you can fit in the boat with custom made tanks.
I think they were about 2pm gallon. I replaced both tanks. The one under the v birth as well as the one under the starboard settee.
I'm traveling today. I'll get back to you late tomorrow with the tank models and sizes.

Check my thread 39 project boat finished up last fall. There are pictures of the tanks installed. The forward tank is a 20 gallon and required a larger opening to get at the space under the Vbirth.
I purchased the tanks from trionic in Wisconsin .
Again, more info later.

When I removed the weeny 9 gallon tank that came with my 32 and needed to find the largest tank to fit in that spot I found it at Tank depot.com.....I was able to look at all different sizes and ended up finding a 23 gallon that was a snug fit all around plus they sold all types of fittings to go with it
