Maine, I have a 2007 Hunter 33 with a typical battery set up- one bank of two batteries, that I use for house draw, and a one battery that I reserve for starting. PO installed diesel furnace. It does have a dedicated circuit breaker on the 12 volt side of my panel, but it also has its own power lead wired to the positive post of my starting battery.

I'd like to relocate the power lead from my starting battery to my house bank. Is there anything else I need to do? I am assuming the negative is a common to both battery banks. Is that correct?

Thanks.

You can relocate that to the house bank, should have been there anyway... You may however want to add a positive distribution bus bar so that your house bank terminals are not over loaded. You will also want a fuse in that wire, within 7" of the + post, to protect the wire to the heater.
