Wayfarer Islander 34 petaluma
I am privileged to have a 1968 Islander 34, only 14 of them built I believe. It is a great boat. There is a problem however. I cannot find a place to attach a zinc. The clearance between the prop and the shaft bearing is only 5/8 inch, nowhere near enough to put a collar zinc. Nor could the diver find any location on the rudder strut.

Any ideas on where to attach it? Where is the designed location for a zinc?

Incidentally, the diver reported that after more than a year of NOT having any zinc, the prop and shaft did not show signs of electrolysis, only some surface pitting.

Thanks,
Dave

BTW- I see that you are in Petaluma. If the boat lives in fresh or brackish water you do not want to use a zinc anode. You need aluminum or magnesium (freshwater only.)
