Zeehag needs crew!

Did you see that Zeehag is in Ensenada? And that her crew is leaving the boat after one leg of the journey? Karen needs a break.

MAN.. that is too bad.. Seems like the seasick guy didn’t give it much of a shot.. I have seen folks on a long leg get so bad that they had to have a suppository anti-emetic and be strapped in bunk for the first day..but came back to life after a day and were fine for the rest of the trip.. I do know how miserable it is to be sick.. (there was that time I was sitting on the floor of the plane making salami sandwiches while my dad was buzzing grandpa's place) ..everyone can be that way, some folks are less prone than others, but everyone can be motion sick.. and it is not pleasant. I have read that the stress of the beginning of a journey and the uncertainty and all the new motion is a combination that knocks out many folks, and not just newbies.. I feel really bad for Zee to get stuck there with both guys bailing out.

my seasick friend didnt have a choice as to my stopping. i have seen death faces in my other life and his was that. i made decision and i did the turn. he just said a course i didnt follow..lol.....
other factors also came into play after i made that decision.
during the calm we experienced off salsipuedes, and juust afore the turn into ensenada, the ships bell fell off mast mounting. never did that before. after we got into ensenada we found the port to be closed for high wind warnings. so we did right thing coming in -- funny thing about that. i didnt wanna come here. waah. but is done. my othwr crew is severely short of funding as gummint took money out of his account for alleged back debt.. oops-- so he is going home ot make more dough before finishing his trip-- and he will again sail with bird. is a good thing-- mayhave been a good thing for tom to have been so severely sick i had to make for beach. the storm ripped thru here and was all the way to turtle bay--i would not have made that port--we already ripped a 10 in tear in mizzen sail..... didnt need to blow all sails in one trip........

sounds exciting Zee....... good idea to ration your sails. I find sewing them on deck to be a pain, much easier off the boat. I tore 2 sails on my last winter purchase delivery cruise. Makes the trip eventful, tho snow on deck and torn sails is a bit much. Luckily we had a reliable engine for the last 60 miles or so.

new crew coming weds-- will bring sail tape-- then i can tape then stitch it-- even on the boom--is a smallish tear no longer than 10 in and near the mast, so is already stretched for me to do this--i can sit on coach house roof and concentrate on the sail instead of having to hold it...
