Hunter 336 Treasure Island
I am thinking of making my own set of doors, I like the doors that Zarcor has on thier website, but awlfull expensive, I have made a template, but I
haven't decided what material to make them of, Starboard seems OK, but
wonder if anyone has bit the bullet & bought the big dollar set, I have a Hunter 336, and it appears they would swing 180 deg against the bulkhead
without cuisions in place, but they would hold the doors in place.

Have the Zarcor on my 356

I am happy with the Zarcor doors I installed on my 356. They fit good and are a good alternative to hatch boards and other methods of closing off the salon area.

We keep the genset running and the AC on while we are away from the dock and the doors keep the heat or cooling inside the salon. I have added some small weatherstripping at the upper corners to keep bugs out and it works well.

I would highly recommend the Zarcor's.

Yes, I bit the bullet and paid a lot for companionway doors from Cruising Concepts (on this web site in the store) (http://www.cruisingconcepts.com/) I hated the hatch boards on my new Hunter 27 and this was one of the first things that I bought to upgrade. They are the second set of companionway doors that I have bought from Cruising Concepts. The former were in teak for my H380. On my present boat I went with Starboard so that I didn't have to do teak anymore. Windows come out leaving screens in place. Doors can be taken off the hinges to stow if you want. They swing wide when at the dock and are never in the way.

There is a boat one slip away that has the Zarcor doors and that skipper and I agree that my doors are better looking. There are no screws to be seen in the Cruising Concepts doors.

There are two things that make me feel good that I put on my present boat--the Cruising Concepts companionway doors and the three blade Max propellor.

On previous boat a Catalina 34 I had Cruising Concepts teak doors and loved them. When we traded her in on a Hunter 38 I went with Zarcor doors. Did not want any more wood to finish.

Have to say they are one of the best investments we've made on any of the boats we've owned. Zarcor product is very well made. The changeable inserts allow use of lexan, or screens.

The installation kit and instruction CD were as well put together and this well engineered product is.

On our 38 they hinge against the companion way opening and are not in the way. For sailing we lift off and stow so that they don't bank around.

You won't be sorry with spending the money on this product. Well worth it.

We added Zarcor doors to our Hunter 40.5 a few weeks ago. Installation was easy, the various types of inserts provide nice flexibility. The workmanship is very good. I attempted to make my own doors a couple of years ago, but was not satisfied with what I created. They are a bit pricy, but we are glad we did it.
