Hi Peggy. The next phase of my recycling project is the head. I am looking at the Porta Potti 365 unit. The quandry that presents itself is the occasional trip across Lake Ontario to Canada and what exactly constitutes an approved type 3 MSD. I'm not a big fan of the idea of cutting holes in my boat as a year of repairing the PO's foray into power tools was enough to preclude only those holes of absolute necessity. I'm hoping it won't be necessary to reinstall a deck pumpout fitting but I see portable toilets are a no no to our north.

"MSD" portapotties (MSD means it's designed to be permanently installled and is fitted for pumpout) ARE legal in Canadian waters. Portable toilets are not. So you will have to reinstall the deck pumpout fitting and also a vent thru-hull if there isn't one already installed.
