I posted this picture on another thread but really want y'all to know how happy we are with the American flag mounted on the stern rail. Charlie thinks it looks nice, too. Thanks for all your help!

Just got mine reinstalled last week. Existing wooden base for the socket was completely rotten, so I replaced with new PVC board, and added a new flag.

I use a fishing rod holder attached to the stern rail. Works well.

So now we're having trouble finding the right flag staff and holder. Plus, we're not really sure where on the stern we want to put it.

If you're looking to mount your flag on the pushpit railing, here's a flag holder I made from stock SS rail tube fittings. The idea of this attachment was to avoid dragging the welder down to the marina where it wouldn't work any way. In the basement shop, the small 3/16" SS plate was welded to a short piece of 1-1/4" tubing which holds the 1" SS tube flag pole. Every thing else was cut and drilled at the boat.
