Does anyone know where to get a Yanmar Starter Push Button? Its to fit the housing on a 1988 Hunter 30. Please don't say Mack-Boring as I have tried unsuccessfully to buy parts from them several times now. They do not seem to be interested in anything this insignificant, transferring me to 4 different people, none of whom even responded to my question of whether they sell Yanmar starter buttons, and having me on hold for over 10 minutes till I gave up on this last try. I suppose they only want to sell to bigger buyers. Should I just use any old momentary switch? or what? Recommendations are appreciated.

call any local yocal

Andy: Just call any local Yanmar dealer. There are lots of them around. I think that Mack Boring is a master distributor. There are other dealers around that can sell these parts. *Find them fast in the yellow pages.*

Yanmar Parts

Steve's right, Mack Boring seems to be a regional distributor that other dealers buy from and you're probably going to have better luck with a smaller. local dealer. (I must admit, though, I have always found Mack Boring to be attentive, helpful and responsive.) If the part is too uncommon for local dealers to stock, Yanmar's website (yanmar.com) has a list of regional distributors, by region. If you are not in the northeast, maybe the local regional distributor would be more willing to help. Good luck. Tom FitzGibbon S/V Plan B
