Yanmar SD60 Sail Drive Oil Change

In extracting the old oil from my sail drive (using hand pump method from engine room), I am only able to remove a little less than 2 qts of its 3 qt capacity. Do those of you with the Yanmar SD60 have the same experience, or are you able to do better than that? If so, how?

Common problem (see thread below)..........assume you heated up the engine first and extracted the oil while the filler cap was off to let air in. The test will be how much clean oil you add back.

Need to perform 50 hour maintenance on 3JH5C and SD 60. Manual states that oil in sail drive can be change with boat in water by suck oil out of the tube. Using a West Marine vac pump only about 1/2
