yanmar engine throttle binding

hello, the throttle on my 81 irwin with a yanmar 2qm15 seems to be catching or interfering with the warm up knob (you know that knob that pulls out and allows you to throttle up the engine without having it in gear). does anyone have experience with taking one apart or any advice? thanks

What do you mean by catching or interfering? It's not supposed to touch it, even to click by. Elaborate, if you will.

throttle interfering with warm up button

ed, i mean that the throttle interferes with the button inside the control somewhere. i have seen the button turn and felt a binding when i applied forward throttle. so what do you know about this?

ed, what do you mean by "click by"? this is just a button right below the throttle lever. it pulls out or pushes in. just enables/disables the gear cable. never clicked though, should it?
