Crew, I'd be interested in any information on the Yanmar diesel installed in my 78 H27. I'd like to know if there is a source for an owner's manual for the engine. One for the boat would be a nice to have item as well. Anyone know of a source? By the way, I've posted a couple of things on this site and truely appreciate the time you all have taken to answer my questions. As a sailor for over 30 years and going on my fifth boat, I look forward to sharing my knowledge whenever I can. Experienced in woodwork, machining and welding (TIG, MIG, and stick with SS, AL, and steel) as well as building engines for classic cars (though not a Yanmar - yet) I may be of some assistance to you guys. I am completely restoring my 1977 Hunter 27 and ordered all of my parts and manual from Mackboring , they were most helpful,my engine runs like Ye ole Swiss watch. Good Luck

Most likely had a Renault R8 in it. Sould be obvious in the labeling. I have access to parts for these in Europe. There was a US Distributer who closed about 2 years ago. I'm not sure the manual is still available. Mabey someone can scan one in for you. Pat McCartin Inland Marine Diesel Atlanta, GA

Yanmar's not the only stock engine?
Pat, Quite possible it's not a Yanmar. I've taked the presumption that it's the stock engine as I see no obvious plackarding. Sure is tiny, though. Painted that light green - same as the '60's buick big block engines. Are you satisfied with the quality and design of the Hunter? Thanks, Michael

Can you post or e-mail a picture of the engine? I love the older Hunters. I restored a 30 and looked at several 37C's before buying my Cheoy Lee. The build quality for a production boat at that time is excelent. Pat McCartin Inland Marine Diesel Buford, GA
