Just returned from a one day seminar on the basics of our YANMAR diesel in our Hunter 320. (2GM20F) They were following the next two days with a hands on class which we weren't able to attend. This was sponsored by Mack Boring and was EXTREMELY helpful. I would highly recommend this to anyone with limited knowledge of their engine. Picked up some great pointers!! Hopefully will save us some repairs and headaches down the line. This was the only time it was offered in the Chicago area, but they said they were going to try to offer this same series again later on this year as demand was high.

If You Get A Chance......

by all means go back for the two-day hands-on version. We did both the one- and two-day classes; the one-day was great, but the reality of actually doing it all in the two-day hands-on was absolutely priceless! C and J s/v Syzygy

Yanmar seminars?

HOW does one find out what the schedule is for upcoming seminars? I've heard nothing but good things about them and would like to attend in the near future.

mack class

About ten years ago I attended their class and bought the maintenance manual for my engine. It has paid for itself in hired labor and worry savings many times over. At least I know exactly what was done on the engine rather than find out much later on (after a "critical" moment) the true scope of what should have been done and maybe wasn't. Ignorance is not bliss. You'll also learn what extra parts & tools you should keep on hand to make those impeller fixes, fuel filter, gaskets and belt replacements etc. Just do it! Jim McCue
