I have a small oil leak I believe which is from the bottom oil seal under the engine. It appears to be coming from the area between the transmission housing and the bolts holding the oil pan cover and seal. My question is: what parts do I need to order and how to change/replace a new seal. Are there any standards for torquing the bolts?

Leak repair

Black oil dripping from the bottom, rear of an engine can be coming from anywhere on the engine. The area described is the lowest point on the engine and even oil obeys the law of gravity. I would start by cleaning the engine completely and then determining the origin of the leak. There is no "bottom oil seal" on the engine. Find out where the leak actually starts and then we can discuss the repair. You may want to use the services of an experienced Yanmar mechanic.
