Yanmar 4JH2TE ??

I was told by my mechanic that this Yanmar 4JH2TE does not have any internal anodes- is this correct? I seem to remember reading or hearing about an anode or anodes in this engine?

I have the 4JH4, which does not have internal anodes. You can you look for a manuel online to confirm it on your engine.

Hello, I was told that I don't have any internal anodes on my 4JH2-TE. I have gone to the Yanmar web site and down loaded the only manual they offer. ( operation manual ). And there is nothing in there that talks about anodes.
If I'm wrong! Someone please let me know!! I have looked all over the engine and not seen anything that looks like a plug that has been replaced unless they painted it to match.

I looked it over and saw no mention of an anode. I wonder what Yanmar has done that allows them to not need the old pencil zinc? (by the way, I am NOT a mechanic, just interested in your posts). When I had the same question about my 4JH4AE, I called the local Yanmar dealer in San Francisco. They were very friendly (me being a potential customer). Sooner or later I'm gonna be spending money there!

got one and they don't have anodes. Course the use that antifreeze stuff so there are corrosion inhibitors in that. If you change the anti at the recommended interval you should be fine.

I was just hoping that there was one in the heat exchanger on the sea water side! There must not be a problem with corrosion!
