Yanmar 3gm30f to Edson pedestal controls reversed

I have a '78 Hunter 37c with a Edson pedestal stering and a Yanmar 3gm30f motor. The direction controll is reversed, pushing the lever forward and I'm in revers, pull back on the lever and the boat is forward. I have found very little info on the web and neather the controlls or the transmission seem to be reversable.

Go down to the transmission and change the cable bracket so that the shift works in the right way. This should be an easy change.

About a year of so ago, there was a thread on this topic. A creative use of the search function of this forum may yield results. I don't recall if the original poster ever returned to the forum with his outcome. But if you find the thread you might be able to PM him for info?
