Ahoy there ! Just thought I'd let the folks responding to my previous posting know the results of correction my vibration problems re: vibrations in the Yanmar 2GM 20 engine/drivetrain on my Hunter 28.5 After getting your responces which all pointed to engine misalignment/shaft coupling problems. The local boatyard found it was the engine being severely mis-aligned. This has now been corrected and can now bring rev's to 3000 or above with no appreciable problems. Thanks to all, and smooth sailing! Eric Grant

Now the easy part......

Aint it great to have this site available. As we completely refitted our 33.5 in 98/99 and being relatively new to sailing and definately new to owning a sailboat, the people hear were our most valuable resource. My recommendation: As your alignment was most likely a result of the motor mount bolts vibrating loose (like ours was), I suggest checking the torque on them at least as often as you change your oil (around 50 hours or so). That way you will catch it before your alignment gets out of whack. Happy smooth (and rattle free) sailing! Doug
