What is the proper cruising RPM for the yanmar 2gm on a 31' hunter.

70-80% of max RPM

Robert: The recommended cruising RPM for a 2gm20f is 70-80% of the max rated RPM which is about 2500-2900. The higher the RPM's the higher the fuel consumption. Run it lower than 2500 for extended periods and you will need to worry about the exhaust elbow coking.

2400/2700 rpm

engine cruise rpm is usualy 75 to 80% of top rated engine rpm's
