I am considering replacing my Renault engine with a Yanmar 2GM engine. But to do that I will need a transmission. Has anyone done this or have information as to where to purchase a rebuilt transmission that would connect to the Yanmar 2GM engine?

I assume that you are purchasing this engine used (Yanmar discontinued this engine a couple years ago). Normally the transmission comes with the engine.

Steve wrote it and I agree, the transmission should be there. I have purchased and sold two used Yanmars and never without the transmissions(made by Kanzaki).
Could it be that this 2GM was not a marine engine? Yanmars were used in other applications like generators and tractors. I think that I would stay away from one of those.
