Sorry guys, I have a newbie question.
I have a Yanmar 1GM diesel engine that has been winterized by the previous owner. He put the recommended antifreeze in by way of a jug. However, the engine user guide says to simply drain the water out to winterize. There is a drain valve on the side of the engine. My question is can I simply drain the water after running the engine during the winter or do I need to do the antifreeze thing after each use?
Thanks,
Paul Harrison

Its cheap insurance to flush it out with antifreeze (there may be areas that don't drain fully) if you have an extra length of 1/2" hose you can pull the coolant line off the pump and attach the short section the goes into a gallon jug start the engine and kill it as the jug empties..........easy peasy lemon squeezy
