I'm thinking of swapping out my old 1983 2
Yanmar 2gm raw water cooled with a rebuilt Yanmar 2 GMf 20. Anyone know it it would be an exact drop on? I'd like to not have to modify the engine bet or shaft.

should drop right in ...the only diff is that it has more stuff on the top end of the engine related to cooling ....fresh water pump..heat exchanger and maybe a different exhaust elbow.....

They Do Look Similar .........

.................... but here are the two pages from my Yanmar shop manual (2002) which will confirm (or deny) whether the motor mounts, etc. are going to fit to the original bed.

Good luck on what should be an enjoyable project (if the weather ever warms up).
