After letting my hunter set for about a month I started the Yanmar Ysm12. Idles OK but I'm unable to rev it up. Any suggestions? Same problem in gear and out.
Steve: Have you checked the cable? I would suggest that you check it on both ends and make sure that it is moving. There is a small bracket that holds the cable housing in place (sometimes in the pedestal). If this bracket comes loose then the housing and the cable will move together and you will not be opening/closing the fuel.
If you are very low on fuel most diesels will idle, but when you throtle up it will sputter or die from fuel starvation. Then same thing will happen if you have a clogged fuel filter or water in the fuel. Hope this helps, Bob
