Yamaha Jet Outboard

Has anybody heard about somebody using a Yamaha jet outboard on a Mac 26X. I'm just curious as to how how well it might have performed?

Jet Drives

A 50 hp jet drive outboard gives you as much performance as a 30 hp outboard with a prop. It's a nice feature but not very efficient.

Timm,According to the Yamaha web site, their 40 hp jet performs at the same level as a 60 hp prop.

I think you may have it backwards

It usually takes an additional 30-50% more hp for the jet pump to get the same performance as a prop drive. You have to use a 60 hp unit w/jet drive to get the equivalent of a 40 hp prop. With the conversion usually comes a decal that overlays the hp # on the engine cover.
