Hi: Has anyone tried to add a dodger and/or bimini to a Yamaha 30? It seems difficult to do properly given boom height, rigging locations, etc. If anyone has, comments and a picture would be much appreciated. Frank

Thanks for the info. Do you have a picture or a link to one?

Picture of Bimini

Well, I thought I included the picture but it didn't show up. Here is a link to a larger picture of the boat so you can get an idea of what the Bimini looks like. It is on a boat that was for sale in Seattle. I liked the way he did the inside of the boat and the Bimini on the outside. I hope this one works!

We're getting closer!

Thanks for the picture. Spent eight hours in the sun yesterday which helped make up my mind that we're going to have a bimini by next summer!

Actually I have a bimini!

My last post with picture showed a dodger...NOT a bimini...sorry. That is what I meant, a dodger. I have a bimini for my 30 foot but I don't know if it was custom made. It came with the boat. It is quite large, takes a while to set up and sort of goes over the boom. It does fit the boat perfectly but doesn't have any mounting brackets mounted to the boat. I can't even remember how it secures to the boat but it is stable once it is put together. It is NOT a quick set up though. I remember that it has several chrome poles that sort of curve up and then connect to each other in an arch-like pattern. Then the canvas just fits over that and is secured with lines or bungees. Then the halyard holds it all up at the top center. If I ever put it together again, I will take a picture of it. It works great...just hard to put together!
