I was recently demasted - lower shroud let go from fatigue with disastrous results, the mast was broken at the spreaders. I have been sailing my Y-26 for about 20 years and love the way it sails. I am looking for a replacement mast and hope somebody could supply information on where I could find a mast.
thanks for any assistance
I have a Yamaha 26 Tall Rig also.
I am very sorry to hear that you lost your mast.
The information in bold below is from the web site yamahasailboats.org. It is possible to get certain parts. I hope they get a reasonably priced mast for you. They just might be able to provide you with a new mast. If they can't have a new one built they may be able to provide you with a detailed plan of your mast including the exact section used.
You might try and find a good local rigger who can help you thru the process.
If all else fails you will need to contact custom mast manufacturers such as:
Dwyer Aluminum Mast Company
Ballenger
Proctor
Selden
Hall Spars
Atlantic Spars
etc:
Good luck with finding a new mast. Let us all know how things go.

This gentleman knows English well enough to do business with, and the service I received when I ordered parts was excellent. My method of doing business is to photograph the part for which I needed a replacement, with a ruler next to it if appropriate, then e-mail it to him. In a couple days, I would get part numbers and price quote with shipping.
