On our lake, Brookville Lake, Brookville, Indiana, buoys are plentiful, slips are dear. We entered the drawing to obtain a slip for next year and received notice today that we were one of the luck ones! No more dry dock. No more mooring field! Nice firm, splintery, in need of repair, state owned wood will be under our feet, until we hit the fiberglass!Sorry, kind of excited. They are real hard to get and once you are in, you are IN !

Brookville Slip

We started out with a mooring then moved to a slip .The mooring was not bad but the slip was much better . These are at a premium every where , congratulations . It does make a world of difference and you will most likely find your sailing more . Fighting that ramp traffic around here can take a lot of fun out of sailing . We did some riding thru Brown County Indiana a year or so ago , is that where Brookville is ? Beautiful country , Mike

Better than Brown County

Brown County is nice, a quick hour from Indy but South East of Indy, toward Cincy is where you find Brookville. The areas are similar. Brookville is surrounded by farm land, Amish buggy's are also common.On the way home from the lake, we saw two Amish boys on a buckboard returning from the small town with 3 boxes of pizza. The time warp almost caused a wreck!
