Yes, on your J/Boat we've had them on both heads. What's your question?

i have my hunter 456 in the Caribbean. Has anyone put a y valve in to pump overboard?
Brian
No and no need for one here. Our boat has a wye fitting, not a valve, which allows the skipper to discharge overboard or through the deck pump out fitting without fussing with a valve. Our tank has a discharge stand pipe. That pipe has a hose to a wye fitting; one routes to an overboard macerator pump the other to the deck pump out. Simple, effective and convenient.

Did you install the pump out with the y fitting or was it already in place. I looked at the manual and didn’t see one. Also I didn’t see a pump out fitting. My macerators are are hooked it looks like to each head. To use them I flip the macerator switch on the panel then push the pump. Is there anyway to install your system fairly easily. If so can you send me a diagram. Thanks

You need to trace the plumbing on the boat 'cuz it doesn't always match what's in the manual.

Do you mean that your toilets are macerating electric toilets? Or that macerators have been added to manual toilets (very bad idea!)?
I'll be glad to help you sort it all out, here or one-on-one whichever works best for you.

There is a macerator hooked to each electric toilet. You seitch the toilet on for water you then switch the macerator punp for that toilet. Then push the macerator buton. From there? Who knows. I just got the boat and have no idea if it’s going overboard. I have a y valve on my Benetau but I see no switch pump out or y valve on the Hunter. I don’t want to be out and be trying to pump out the holding tank with a hand pump in 30kts. I’d appreciate all the help. My email is lawtondds@hotmail.com or 916-802-7998. Thanks

Hunter built our boat as is with the wye fitting, two electric macerator pump toilets and an electric macerator overboard pump.

Once I open the sea water through hull valve, the toilet flush button activates the sea water/macerator pump, which brings in sea water and sends the bowl contents to the holding tank in one process. When the holding tank needs to be emptied, either it is pumped out through the deck fitting or discharged overboard using the macerator/pump.

I suspect Hunter built your boat with a very similar setup.
