Hello again!
So, based on the manuals I take it that only the international version of the 306 comes with a Y-Valve. In case of the boat I just bought, it therefore looks like waste is pumped from the head directly to the holding tank. From the holding tank there is a line to the macerator pump, and from there to a through-hull.
Obviously, pumping waste into the Chesapeake is a big no-no, so I never use that through-hull (pump-out only) and therefore the macerator pump appears to me to be fairly useless.
The problem is that I can only imagine that the section of hose that goes from the holding tank to the macerator pump (and possibly between pump and through-hull) would permanently be....well, a bit soiled, to put it mildly.
How do you deal with this? Does anybody simply disconnect the line going from holding tank to macerator and seal it off permanently?
Thanks again!
Nico
PS: I usually tell people to use the marina's facilities for #2, but sometimes nature's call is just too strong, particularly for kids...
