I'm looking for the location of the Xintex Seafire brain-box/controller module. It's called the Engine Shutdown and Restart control module ("ESRS"). It may be installed close to the engine gauge, iginition panel, on the starboard side of the gunwale -- but I'm not certain. It's defective and causes the engine to shutdown immediately after it is started. Picture (.pdf) attached. Thanks.

Are you sure it is defective? My engine compartment fire supression tank leaked slowly until empty resulting in the engine not starting like yours. I used the override switch (pictured) until I got a replacement tank installed.

I'll definitely check out the possibility of a leak. Thanks. But I still would like to know where the controller is located.

Sorry, this may be a repeat. I have a 41 AC with the fire suppression system. The controller is in the starboard locker aft of the engine controll panel. Just stand on your head and look toward the bow. You can't miss it. Mine went out about 2 years ago and burnt up the fuel shut off solenoid. Call the manufacturer. They can walk you through a checking procedure and identify what is wrong. Good luck.

Andy,

I also have a Hunter 33 (2005). It would not start this year until I used the engine override switch. I have a fire supression system also. I have a small extinguisher in the engine compartment which is part of that system. Is that the tank that leaked on your Hunter. Did you have to order a new extinguisher? Did you order from Xintex? I will be on the boat this weekend and I want to dig into the problem a little deeper. Your experience will help.
