Xantrex and Charging

Has anybody heard anything about Xantrex inverters being damaged if they are on when the engine is running?

Hope that is not true of the old Heart Freedom series. My Freedom 20 is at least twelve years old and is always on. Have not had a failure, knock on wood.

No, but some Xantrex battery chargers do not like non-pure sine generator power and can tweak when run off a generator that is not putting out clean power.

An inverter simply runs off a range of voltages and being directly connected to the battery that acts as a nice filter.

never had any issues with my xantrax true charge 40. running the engine at dockside with charger running the lights and air cond. running off the shore power no issues
