Wrap around jib on a furled genoa

Not sure of the value. But it can be done.
Goal, I have always understood, you want to have a minimalist entry over the loft of the jib so that you don’t create turbulence as the wind goes across the jib sail.
The furled jib is a protuberance. It would create considerable turbulence. This would reduce the wind adherence to the sail and create drag.

That was my first thought, BUT the reef furled genoa has that problem and so does a mast on the mainsail.
I sail often in 20 plus knots and my furling genoa is pretty light so I am looking at something that will prolong the life of my furling genoa.
We will see how it works out after a few mods and a stiffer breeze.
It is a freeby so nothing to lose at this stage.

That is where the inspiration came from.
There were some other considerations.
I often sail in 20 plus knots with the genoa partially furled.
It has luff pads and furls pretty well.
However, it is pretty new and I was worried about stretch.
That is why I started looking at some way to rig a proper jib.
The other point was that the boat next to me was demolished and lots of stuff when into the bin.
I got the main (really past it) and jib (not so bad, but nothing special) for free.
So it became an exercise in "can I reused old sails".
Up to now it is looking pretty good. I have spent $13. Compared to $1300, I am doing OK,
