Ahoy,

So I want to work on my 79 Hunter 30 during the winter. Does anyone have ideas on a good way to provide heat inside the boat during the winter months when we see 20 degrees here up north? I do have electric at the boat but a marginal service so no "big draw" electric heaters work. I used a small electric ceramic heater last winter in it was inadequate. Thanks for you ideas.

Regards,
Bob

There is plenty of information on the web about catalytic heaters, including how to use them safely inside tents, but I would still be hella cautious of fire, asphyxiation and CO poisoning. Never run one unattended or while sleeping.

^^^ What John says!
I have a big kerosene space heater that puts out plenty of BTUs but using it in a closed up boat is a no-no. With the boat's heater (vents outside) and an electric (ceramic) heater, I can't get it warm enough for varnish or epoxy work if it is below freezing, so those kind of jobs have to wait until spring.
