I just worked on a wooden ship wheel, to install on a friends Challenger 36'
It was a little loose at the hub so I removed a spoke to investigate the core of the hub and found it to be hollow with no real support. I decided it was not seaworthy. After looking exaustivly on the net, I dont see anything claiming to be seaworthy or even disclaimers on the decorative models.
Can anyone give me insight to the the anatomy of a Good wooden wheel,
