I'm excited to have purchased what I believe to be an Annapolis Discoverer 17. It needs some TLC, but will be great to teach my 5 kids to sail on and has most of the original parts, but I cant sail it until I replace the tiller arm. It has a drop down fiber glass rudder, but the wood arm looks to be too weathered to last under stress. Anyone know where to get an arm that will fit this?

Check this site's store, Defender, and eBay as well as WM. One of those should have a similar tiller to the one you have. That will also allow you to compare prices and shipping costs.

And lots of examples on this site of people who build their own, some taking a quite easy approach (laminating plywood together, then sawing to shape).
As I've said (in other contexts) a sailor who doesn't do their own work is a poor sailor (in both monetary and skills meanings).

I made one for my Clipper Marine 23 out of a pick handle, shaped with a spoke shave. Made the extension from a broom handle. Those items are made from tough woods but are cheap to buy.
Once sanded and varnished they look good. My wife sewed up a canvas sock to keep it all out of the sun.

In addition to my 216 I have a Discoverer 18 that my brother in law gave me, he sold his house and didn't want to move it. I trailed the boat from Annapolis to North Carolina to race on a nearby lake. It has the original 45year old sails that I was going to replace till the dentist took my sail budget, o well maybe next year. The boat is a knockoff of an O'Day Daysailor with a little more sail area and length. You can find some info about it on the web if you are interested.
