Wood supplier in SF Bay area

So, tomorrow I'm heading over to Svenson's to have the mast on my H34 removed to begin the dreaded compression post repair. I may end up replacing the compression post itself with one of solid teak or jatoba. Anyone in the SF Bay area know a good place to buy said lumber? I may also need a few trim pieces., etc. Also, what about a good machine shop?
Thanks for your help.

Right outside Svend's, just west up Clement Street is the Japan Woodworker. Go left out Svend's door, left to Clement Street, take a right, walk about 100 feet. Tons of wood there. Or ask at Svend's. They also have a machine shop although more like a rigging shop, but depending on what you need (you didn't specify).

Carl Stirtz in Oakland, over the Park Street bridge on the Oakland side (Google it), does great work. http://www.c34.org/wiki/index.php?title=Rebuilding_the_M25-XP

Good luck.

As an alternative wood for a compression post, take a look at IPE. Used a lot for high end decks. Extremely rot resistant ... like teak. Hard and strong. Available fairly widely. Some pieces can look like Rosewood. Much less expensive than teak. Very heavy though. But so is teak.
