Wondering what type of boat this is.

First off, Hello all my name is Evan, and I'm looking to get into sailing. I am going today to pick up a small "dinghy" looking boat today with only a mast (aluminum). I have a couple pictures of it, and I cannot figure out what it is, so here I am asking all of you.

Sorry for the lack of good pictures, as they were not taken by myself.

Any information about this boat would be much appreciated.
It is located in leominister Ma, and I am going tonight to pick it up.

Odd boat or bad photos.

From the second picture it looks like it has a centerboard trunk, but in the first picture it sure does not look like the opening is (still?) there. Hardware for rudder shows on the stern, suggesting sailboat. Perhaps it is a sailing dinghy that someone converted into just a dinghy by glassing closed the centerboard trunk?

I think Mulf has it right, there is no slot for a centerboard. Thus it is a rowing dinghy. I also see no place for a mast unless it is at the bow. Then it was a cat-rigged boat when it was still a sailboat.

El Toro seems to be the closest thing. but I am no expert.

I'm thinkin' way too big for a sabot or el toro. Besides, both of those had the square pram type bow. This looks very much like a Blue Jay.

A length measurement would be helpful.

The hard chines suggest it's a fiberglass version of an older plywood design.

Haverhill Mass? Might be a version of a turnabout. Popular cat rigged (I think) boat about that size when I used to spend time at my grandparent's place in Essex back in the late 60's/early 70's.

if it helps, The Mast is 19ft long and has a decal that says ZEPHYR sails on it.

ETA: boat is 11.5ft long
