Wiring to mast on 25.5

Wiring to mast is broken one inch above deck and needs replacing. Can anyone tell me how to get to the wiring below deck or have any suggestions. The big wire looks ok must be grounding wire but where does it go?Pat Henagan

Good Question!! The big wire (about a 4 gage or so) runs down the inside of the dorway frame almost directly below the mast, exits under the floor between the vanity and the head and grounds to the forward keel bolt. At least on my boat. I have two 14 Gage wires that go to the light at the spreaders. They apparently run aft through the liner to the fuse panel, but I have never been able to determine the route and suspect that they may have been installed with the liner. When I added a masthead anchor light this fall I wound up drilling a new hole through the deck and runing the wires to the existing connector. below, I ran the wire down the forward face of the bulkhead by the head, through the base of the bulkhead under the forward dinette seat and then under the floor. From there i went aft to sink and into the electrical panel. I haven't had any luck running wire through the overhaed liner but maybe some one can give a hint.

The big wire is for grounding of the mast to the keel. leave it alone.The deck light may need replaceing or it could simply be the wiring connected to it which may be corroded. Remove the plug base and dig out the sealant. IF you have done that and cannot get any extra wire to come out, then look below near the compression post and see if you a teak plate, fiberglass piece or inspection port to see if you can access to the wiring. IF not, then I had to drill a small hole to get to the wiring and had to remove some jputty to do so. If you have to drill, be careful not to cut any wiring that may run in the trough.
