Hi guys,

Any idea how to wire this up? I noticed the switch didn't do anything and then peaking behind the panel saw it had no wires to it. Is anyone able to tell me what colour wires go where on this switch? It seem to have 3 terminals, toggle, on and central. I had a stab at it and blew the fuse immediately :\

all that switch does is provide 12v power to the bulbs to see if they are working .......i have a wiring diagram of a type b panel for a 2gm20f ...not sure what you have ...you also need to know how the switch works in order to understand how it applies the power and from where the power is coming from

Here is the schematic for the QM that I have.. Sounds like you may not have the original panel? What you may have is one switch combining a "push to test switch" which is a test of the lamps, and the "lamp switch" which turns on the tacho lamp .. The push switch would be a momentary that is ON only when pushed and held.. by looking at the schematic, you can tell which wires go to what.. The panel for the GM series has those combined into a toggle switch that is "momentary on" on one side to test the lamps, and the other side switches on the tacho lamp and other instrument lamps if connected there.

The push switch on this schematic is the start button..
I have attached the GM schematic so you can see how the test and lamp toggle is set up.. sorry about the different foremats

Hi guys, thanks for all the help

I didn't realise there was more than one panel for these things. I have the wiring diagram that was posted, but it doesn't seem to fit with the switch I have. I also thought it was a test switch for the bulbs, but the wiring diagram I have suggests its a light for the tach - despite the rest of the manual mentioning it as a bulb test switch several times!

At least all the wires are different colours

You can compare the GM and QM schematics on my previous post.. It looks like the QM does not have a "test" switch and only a switch for the tacho lamp.. Goood Luck! I hope the wires are more or less the same as in the PDF schematic for the QM

Yeah that's what I'm so confused about! I will try to figure it out - thanks for the GM schematics!
