Wireless Kill Switches

The major problem with the kill switches on the motors is no one uses them. When I single hand my boat, I can't raise the sails while attached to the motor. Does any one use/ know of a wireless kill switch for use with tiller outboards? We also want to use them on the chase boats we have for our Junior Sailing program.

Clever! They address the questions I would have about a wireless solution like if you get knocked unconscious: Water and range activated
Justin, how would it help if you get knocked unconscious? I'm imagining you get wacked with the boom and fall in the boat. Not sure how a standard kill switch would help then either.

Water and range activated. In other words, you don't hav eto be conscious for the motor to shut off.

I don't know if there is a product that can help you if you sail alone, get knocked out and fall in the boat. The device in the link addresses what most solo sailors fear, falling overboard and the boat motoring away.

I need something that kills the engine, and more probably rounds the boat up into the wind.

We have an autotether on Escape's dinghy and it works well - at least in testing, we've never lost someone off the dinghy;-) You get the correct kill switch head to match your outboard type, so you can easily use it for multiple outboards
