Wire to Rope Sheave question

Need advice....I have an O'Day 27 and am contemplating changing the wire/rope line to all rope. Will the sheaves accomodate 5/16th inch lines???? Or will they be too narrow??? The mast is currently up and I would like to do this without getting a boom truck, etc. ThanxBill

Halyard Change

I have an Oday 27 and would suggest either a 3/8 inch line or as much as 7/16 th although that might be a tight fit. What you are suggesting is a bit small. Be sure to stitch the two lines together butt to butt or you might be making a trip up the mast.  Good Luck
