wire-to-rope halyards

Cal 1-27 backyard
My measurements are P=27.75; I=34.5; J=12.0; E=10.25. (all in feet)

Would a wire-to-rope halyard with 40 ft of wire ad 40 ft of rope work for both my main and my jib?

Thanks again for everything. Chris

P.S. I was under the assumption that I had a Cal 2-27, but it turn out my boat is a Cal 1-27. Sorry for any confusion on earlier posts.

Yes. You trim the wire or rope to fit your boat as you choose. The pre built halyard kits come with a thimble and crimp so you can create the eye for the shackle after you've reaved the line and decided on the proper length.

Attach a messenger line to the wire end of the old halyard when you remove it (masking or plastic electrical tape works well).... use the messenger line to pull the wire end back through.... decide where you want the spliced part to stop.... trim your wire and attach the shackle.... Trim the unneeded rope end.
