I have the VHF antennae cable and a pair of 14G wires coming up through the deck at the mast. Both have deck mounted pieces to seal where they come through but both have begun to leak a drop or two of water when it rains.
I have found deck mounted wire seals for the round cable but not for the new flat duplex DC cable I plan to run.
Any suggestions?
One idea I had was to pull the wires, pot the holes with epoxy, drill new holes, counter sink, pass the wire through, wrap some butyl tape around it, then pull it back into the hole to pull the butyl in to seal it. Then maybe a stainless washer on top to dress it a bit. For the amount of movement it would get the butyl would probably hold the washer.
