I never needed to find the starter relay the engine stop solenoid, although I thought many times why I had not seen them. After a sail the starter did not turn, checked what I could, all looked well. Shook the starter wiring and it started. Back at the dock I started to trace out the connection and found a gray with red marks duplex wire with one side connected to the power post on the starter and the other side disconnected. The wire diagram said the start switch wire was white and it left the panel as such, testing the gray wire showed no voltage from start button. I searched deeper and eventually found the white wire disconnected. The diagram shows that an optional start relay was available but presume the wire connects directly to the spade connector on the starter solenoid. The wiring diagram shows a gray wire going to an optional relay that controls the engine stop solenoid, I assume that if I don’t have the optional start relay I also don’t have the optional stop relay and the wire would feed elsewhere. I checked if it was powered when the stop button was closed and did not see any change. I have not started the engine in case it is the stop circuit. I also had not checked if it supplies a ground as the other wire in the duplex is tied to a hot circuit. I had to leave and get my appointment vaccine! Anyone know the function/ placement of the wire and where is the stop solenoid?
