wire halyard replacement C30

I have a 1978 C30 with 1/2 wire and 1/2rope halyards for both the main and the jib. I want to replace them, however I'm not sure how to go about this. Do i go with all rope halyards and if so will the rollers in the masthead take just the rope? They look to me like they are designed just for wire? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can go with all rope halyards if you want.

You will have to replace the sheaves in the masthead to fit the rope however. Catalina Direct (see link) has some really nice roller bearing replacement sheaves. They certainly made raising sails much easier! Good luck!
