I recently purchased my 2006 373. This is my first year winterizing. I have the owners manual and can follow. With past boats and engines I would normally run winterizing antifreeze thru the heat exchanger until a goof flow came out exhaust. The manual suggest just bleeding the heat exchanger. Your comments and feedback appreciated.

Either way will suffice. It’s essentially personal preference how people choose to protect the engine. The advantage of running antifreeze through the system is you ensure water left in the water-lift muffler won’t cause a problem.
I have a 2004 373 and have always run antifreeze thru. I would like to drain instead this year but am concerned about any water remaining in the system.

The Yanmar instructions concern only the engine, NOT the exhaust system. So draw your conclusions!
If you leave plain water in the water-lift exhaust it may breeze and burst... mine is plastic. Spring will have a whole bunch of new fun if that happens...... I blow out all my fresh water lines with compressed air... engine I flush with fresh water for an hour then add the purple stuff.
