Hi, I've been asked a couple of times now by friends, "So have you winterized your boat yet?" My answer so far has been, "No, still hope to get it out this weekend." Anyway, the questions I have are 1) Should I winterize my boat, or keep it ready to go when/if the conditions are favorable? 2) When/If I winterize, what should I do? Thanks all, Kevin PS. I still love my Mac. 26S!

What's Winter?

Around here there isn't much to do when winterizing a sailboat. Run the gas out of the outboard, add some conditioner to the gas remaining in your tank (if there is any)and disconnect the battery. Possibly the most important thing is to put your outboard in the "use" position so that all water drains out and no rain/snow (?) gets in. If you're really serious you can cover it so that it stays clean. The nice thing is that you can "winterize" today and still go sailing tomorrow. January and February are a little iffy though.

Thanks Ken!

That was kind of what I was thinking. But I wanted to get some feedback to make sure I wasn't messing up. Perhaps I will see you on the Lake one of these days. Kevin
