I plan to leave my H26 in the water this winter. Does anyone have experience with the water in the balast tanks on the H26 during the winter(i.e. freezing, etc.)?

Lee, We always put 1/2 gal of bleach in our

WB tank when we fill it to control growing things. Your WB tank won't freeze unless the lake it is floating on freezes hard. The warmth of the lake water keeps your tank at the same temp. Your fresh water and drain lines are a different story. If the temp in the cabin is cold enough they can freeze. It takes temps of at least 28 degrees or lower overnight to start these lines freezing solid, anything higher than that makes a slurry. We live where it gets REAL cold and this has been our experence. Get a snowmobile suit and sail all winter! Heck, we'd water ski in your winter temps....well maybe some would. Enjoy Ray S/V Speedy
