I own a new Catalina 16.5 (center board model) and I will be storing it outside. I live outside of Philadelphia and would apreciate any guidance that you can give me on winter lay up. I have been told that draping a tarp over the mast (while on the on a trailor) will bend the mast when snow accumulates. I have also heard that the mast should be removed and stored and that I should build a wood frame structure inside of the boad to place beneath the tarp to prevent snow from accumulating.Do you concur with this and if so can you send me a sketch of what I should build. Do I need to worry about the weight of snow causing damage the the hull? Snow is on the horizon. Thanks.
